Museum quality giclée prints

Fine Art Printing Australia offers a premium-quality and highly personalised fine art giclée print service to mail order customers all over Australia. Since establishing my business in 2011 I have served as a trusted collaborator to artists and photographers at all levels of development, including many who are new to the process of turning their artwork into prints. In that time I have endeavored to make the process of ordering museum-quality giclée prints as pain-free and reliable as possible.

I provide a level of service which combines the convenience of online ordering with the support and trust which comes from working with a boutique print studio run by an expert in the industry. All services are provided in-house at my print and framing studio based in Adelaide. Nothing is outsourced and no step in the process is automated - everything is handled by me personally.

I stock a range of museum-quality archival art and photography papers (including canvas), from premium brands such as Canson, Hahnemühle, Moab and Ilford, but I have also sourced specialty stocks for clients with particular requirements, such as Japanese kozo and washi papers. I can also supply personalized certificates of authenticity to go with your prints and carry a range of packaging materials, from blank mailing tubes to archival polypropylene sleeves and backings for retail display.

Before I print anything I will first assess the quality, confirm the order with you and alert you to any problems which might arise from low-resolution files, colour casts or any other issues which might effect the quality of your prints and potentially offer some simple, free solutions to get the most out of your prints. For this reason, I place no demands upon my clients in terms of file type, sizing, or resolution but simply ask that you send me the best file you have and we can take it from there. If you do not have a file, you can read my guide on how to get professional quality digital files from your artwork here, or, if you live in the Adelaide metropolitan area you can contact me about my art photography services

If you have concerns as to how your image will print, or wish to trial a few different file variations, I can do test strips at a discounted rates. Test strips are typically 200mm high and can be made with either full reproductions of the file or cropped sections printed at 100% to check critical detail before proceeding with full-sized prints.

Once your files have been assessed and your order has been confirmed, I will send you an invoice and begin work on your prints. The turnaround time for most orders is two to three business days plus shipping. There is no minimum order, but I do offer bulk discounts.

Prints at A2 (594mm x 420mm) or smaller are usually shipped flat, sandwiched between two sheets of foamcore. Larger prints are rolled at three to a tube with multiple tubes taped together for larger orders. However, I happy to accommodate any shipping or packaging requirements you might have.

I also offer a drop-shipping service for clients whereby you can sell your works online and have me fill the orders - printing, packaging and shipping direct to your buyers. Some clients even supply me with their own branded stickers for packaging and other materials to include with their prints to add their own personal touch to their orders.

Prints for artists

You can view my current price list here. Standard paper sizes are given as reference, but I generally print from rolls so can produce prints to any dimensions up to 1100mm on the shortest side. If I am asked to print an image to a standard size and the file is of a different proportion, I will print it to ensure that it will fit within a polypropylene sleeve at that standard size (including a small border for handling and framing) and then trim the excess.

If you have any questions or particular requirements which are not addressed on either this page or in the document above, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Photographic printing

I am happy to receive files at mail@shauncduncan.com via DropBox, Google Drive or whichever file-sharing service you prefer. If you do not have one you regularly use, I suggest WeTransfer as it does not require you to sign up for an account. Please include a short message to indicate the size of the work and paper preference. If you are unsure of which paper to print on, I'd be happy to offer some advice based on the artwork. I have also written a short guide to choosing papers which can be found here.

Don't worry too much about resolution or other specifications - simply send me the best quality or largest you have and we can take it from there. I will acknowledge receipt of the files and confirm your order before I print.
